Appreciating Life

I will always take time to appreciate the simplest things in life! I am most thankful for all that is my life... love of two great boys, family, friends and all that the universe sends my way... including this morning's sunrise!

Sorrel!!!

I had to get a jump on making the holiday drinks! I went old school and made sorrel... Jamaican style. Just bummed I couldn't get the Wray and Nephew white rum.

Winter can be such a tease!

Anyone who knows me know that I love all seasons with the exception of Summer... Its just too hot! And I just can't get behind that!

Now here I am enjoying Fall... Autumn, the changing leaves, the mild weather and just that hint of melancholy in the air ( Fall always seem to have that effect on me). Then came that half day of flurried snow and the kids and I got so excited! Here come Winter! No! That was it. Nothing else. The temperature even warmed up too.

Old man... Or for the feminist in me, old woman Winter, where are you?

Raw Sauerkraut

To kick off the Fall, I thought I would just use all that cabbage I have and make some raw sauerkraut.

Cabbage
Carrots
Garlic cloves
Roasted Jalapenos

Ferment for 2 weeks and enjoy!

Summerlicious!!

Yesterday...

Organic mango, strawberries and wild blueberries.

And for the adults... I tossed in some white rum! Delicious!!

Today...

Organic mango, pineapple, papaya and strawberries.

Once again, I tossed some white rum in for the adult in me!

Yum!
